Support a Leading Compliance Platform in Navigating Nordic Energy Regulations

A recognised European company delivering regulatory compliance services for electricity and gas markets is expanding its support for Nordic energy trading. To enable a robust and country-specific compliance offering, three freelance consultants, one each for Sweden, Norway, and Finland, are sought to contribute specialised national expertise.

The company operates a comprehensive compliance platform used by some of the largest and most renowned companies in the European energy sector. The platform delivers up-to-date regulatory insights, reporting reminders, and expert support to help energy traders maintain full compliance in an evolving policy environment.

About the Role

As Regulatory Compliance Consultant, you will be responsible for mapping the national regulatory landscape for electricity and gas trading in either Sweden, Norway, or Finland. You will produce a structured overview of all relevant rules, obligations, timelines, and documentation requirements.

Following the initial delivery, you will provide after-market support by responding to regulatory questions submitted by users of the compliance platform. You will also help set up calendar-based reminders to notify customers of upcoming submission deadlines, ensuring ongoing adherence to national requirements.

You will be contributing directly to a platform that supports some of the most prominent energy market actors in Europe. The quality and clarity of your work will help major energy companies operate confidently and efficiently within the regulatory frameworks of your national market.

The role is project-based with flexible workload (full-time or part-time) and may lead to additional assignments within the broader regulatory compliance portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

• Identify, interpret, and document the applicable national regulations governing electricity and gas trading
• Structure and communicate a clear compliance overview for use by market participants via the platform
• Respond to user-submitted queries concerning regulatory compliance within your national market
• Create and maintain reminder systems to support timely reporting and documentation submissions
• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and flag changes impacting trading obligations

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electricity and gas trading regulations in either Sweden, Norway, or Finland
• Proven experience in energy market compliance, policy analysis, or legal advisory work
• Ability to translate complex regulatory frameworks into practical guidance for users
• High level of autonomy and organisational skill
• Strong written communication skills in English and the local language
